DEAR EDITOR:

How much more are we supposed to endure before things get better? How many more bodies do we have to see on the street before we stand up and take action!

Mayor Bloomberg of New York City had a good plan — stop and frisk; this idea was not very popular with the minority population of New York, but it got a lot of illegal guns off the street.

The hobgoblins who enjoy these violent acts are not going to stop and the surrounding community are not going to step forward to assist law enforcement in identifying these hooligans for fear of being called a snitch or something worse.

Local officials are going to have to put the hammer down on these areas of violence before more innocent people are killed. Talking the talk is not going to get the job done.
