Sally J. Smith 1954-2025
LEAVITTSBURG — Sally J. Smith, 70, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025, at her home, following complications of dementia.
She was born May 28, 1954, in Warren, a daughter of the late Paul E. and Betty L. Kuhn Boyle. Sally married the love of her life, Randall Smith, on Aug. 26, 1972; together they shared 52 years of marriage and many happy memories.
She worked at the Parkman Road Giant Eagle, which later became Sparkle, for 27.5 years until her retirement in 2018.
Sally devoted her life to Christ. She was a longtime member of Tod Avenue United Methodist Church. She more recently attended First Community Church of Leavittsburg, where she enjoyed assisting with Bible school and helping in the kitchen at church camp.
Sally was a car enthusiast and enjoyed drag racing classic muscle cars with her husband.
She is survived by her loving husband, Randall P. Smith; daughters, Charla (Charles) Bennett and Denise (Tim) Bower; sister, Kathy Austin; brothers-in-law, Russell (Sue) Smith and James Fatula; grandchildren, Sarah (Joel Martin) Bennett, Brandon (Lauren) Smith, Felicia (Noah Golembowski) Bennett, Grant (Kaitlyn Pugh) Bower and Randy (Lucy Price) Bower; great-grandchildren, Kinsley and Norah; her best friend, Holly Meyers; and her beloved cat, Thomas; along with many other friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, Chester and Kathryn Smith; brother-in-law, Dennis Atwood; and sister-in-law, Jolene Fatula.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, 2025, at First Community Church of Leavittsburg, where Pastor John Jaros will officiate.
Visitation will take place 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service Friday, at the church.
The family would like to give a special thank you to O’Brien Memorial Health Care Center and Grace Hospice for their compassionate care.
The family requests that material contributions be made in Sally’s memory to First Community Church of Leavittsburg.
