Ralph L. Tranter 1929-2024

WARREN — Ralph Lee Tranter, 94, passed away Monday, Sept. 23, 2024, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.

He was born Oct. 17, 1929, in Warren, the son of the late Theodore Tranter and the late Carrie Garber Tranter.

Ralph was a 1948 graduate of Newton Falls High School, where he was a first-seat trumpet player in the high school band. He was a machinist at Taylor Winfield and Wean Manufacturing. Ralph attended Champion Presbyterian Church and enjoyed golfing and fishing throughout northeast Ohio and Canada.

He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca (Dennis) Carpenter of Warren; sons, Ralph Lee (Lorie) Tranter Jr. of Phoenix, Arizona, Jonathan Tranter of Chandler, Arizona, Eric (Maureen) Tranter of Chesterland and Joel (Dr. Laura Nelson) Tranter of Boise, Idaho; grandchildren, Jennifer (Rodney) Sankey, Lisa (DJ) Follmyer-Matthews, Ryan (Kendall) Tranter, Megan (Adam Skiver) Tranter, Bethany Tranter, Aryka (Ryan) Tranter, Francesca (Chris) Rowe and Julia Tranter; 10 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel M. Tranter.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2024, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Champion Township Cemetery, Champion.
