Orlin ‘Ray’ Swiger Sr. 1930-2024

He was born March 5, 1930, in Clarksburg, Virginia, a son of the late Lotus Nelson Swiger and the late Lily M. Jones Swiger.

Ray attended Farmington High School and worked as a self-employed truck driver for many years.

Left to carry on his legacy are his children, David E. (Tina) Swiger of Warren, Bonita “Bonnie” Hamrick of Cortland, Barbara J. Hall of Champion, Orlin R. Swiger Jr. of West Farmington and Pamela S. (Matthew) Swiger, also of West Farmington; first wife, Lois Hickox Swiger of Cortland; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; second wife, Susan Sajnovsky; sons, Ronald Ray and Joey Swiger; daughter-in-law, Charlene “Jonnie” Swiger; and siblings, Lerlin Homewood Swiger, Willow Mae Yeater, Verlie Butcher and Coy N. Swiger.

Services will take place 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2024, at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where Kenny Sivek will officiate. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to the funeral home to help offset final expenses.
