Warren man arrested following shooting

WARREN — Police have arrested one suspect following a Wednesday morning shooting that left a 42-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds, according to Warren police.

Officers were dispatched around 8 a.m. to a home in the 700 block of Fourth Street SW, where they found Timothy Williams injured by gunfire. Williams was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. His condition has not been released.

The suspect, taken into custody at the scene, was reportedly involved in an altercation with Williams inside the home prior to the shooting, according to police dispatch logs.

Warren detectives are continuing to investigate the incident. The name of the person who was arrested was not available Wednesday.

Councilwoman Honeya Price, D-6th Ward, who represents the ward where the incident occurred, issued a statement addressing the shooting.

“I feel it is imperative to address the tragic shooting that took place earlier today in our community. My heart goes out to the victims and their families during this incredibly difficult time,” Price said. “Violence has no place in our city, and we must come together to support those affected and work toward preventing such incidents in the future.”
