100TH ANNIVERSARY: The 100th anniversary celebration of SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1025 N. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown, will be Saturday and Sunday. The celebration includes Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, blessing of the newly constructed bell tower at 9:30 a.m. Saturday and a banquet at the Ukrainian Orthodox Church at 1 p.m. Divine Liturgy begins at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, followed by a brunch at the center.

SETON III EVENT: Seton III, which was founded in 1964 by a group of Catholic women to advocate for world peace, will have its annual Mass at 11 a.m. Sunday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish on Norquest Boulevard in Austintown. An invitation-only brunch will follow, but the Mass is open to the public. The event is being hosted by the officers of Seton III, who include Susan Paczak, president; Joyce Tofil, vice president; Carol Ryan, recording secretary; Sue Williams, corresponding secretary; and Mary Jo Wright, treasurer. Sunday’s event will have special significance as it is the 50th anniversary of the canonization of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, for whom the club is named.

FAMILY AND FRIENDS DAY: The Community Church of God in Christ, 310 Austin Ave., Warren, will host a Family and Friends Day Program at 11:30 a.m. Sunday. The speaker will be Missionary Wanda Webster from St. John Church of God In Christ, Warren. The Family and Friends Day will conclude with an afternoon worship service starting at 4 p.m., with guest speaker Elder Lucien Blackwell from the Mega Church. The theme is “We’ve Got Work To Do.”

MEN’S CONFERENCE: Hoyt Street Flourishing Ministries, 789 Hoyt St. SW, Warren, will host a men’s fellowship conference 11 a.m. Saturday at the Renaissance Center, Palmyra Road, and 5 p.m. Sunday at the church, with guest speaker Elder Brian Cook. The conference will focus on men being more involved in the church.

WORLD WEEK: Unity Spiritual Centre Girard, 1226 Naylor-Lloyd Road, Liberty, invites the public to participate in its annual World Week of Prayer on Saturday. The event emphasizes the power of collective prayer to bring about positive change, healing and peace in individuals and communities. PASTOR ANNIVERSARY: Zion Hill Baptist Church, 220 Jefferson St., Youngstown, will host the second anniversary for Pastor and first lady Korneagay at 11 a.m. Sept. 22. The theme is “Shepherd after God’s Own Heart.” The guest speaker will be Pastor T. James Harrison of Valley Baptist Church, Farrell, Pa.

FIRST FRIDAY CLUB: The First Friday Club of Greater Youngstown will host Bishop David Bonnar of the Diocese of Youngstown as guest speaker at its monthly speaker series Oct. 3. Bonnar will present his reflections at Avion on the Water Banquet Center, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road in Canfield. On Nov. 17, 2020, Pope Francis appointed Bonnar the sixth bishop of Youngstown and he was installed Jan. 12, 2021. Since 2014, Bonnar has been the editor of Priest magazine and in 2020 was appointed a member of the National Advisory Board for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. DRUMS AND YUMS: The Drums and Yums event for the Autumn Equinox will be 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 20. Weather permitting, the event will be outside with a bonfire; otherwise, inside in the foyer. The event will be facilitated by Dan Susany, who is a local drummer. Drums and percussion instruments such as rattles will be provided for those without their own instruments. GUEST AUTHOR: The “Breadth, Length, Height and Depth of God’s Love” is the topic for Christian author and speaker Jennifer Cadamore at the Hubbard Church of the Nazarene’s women’s retreat 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 21. ECUMENICAL STUDY DAY: An Ecumenical Study Day and Celebration will be 2:30 to 7 p.m. Sept. 22 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Streetsboro. The event is the 25th anniversary of the Joint Declaration on Justification. Guest speakers are Youngstown Bishop David Bonnar, Bishop Laura Barbins, northeastern Ohio Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and. CHEFS FOR CHARITY: Catholic Charities Regional Agency will host Chefs for Charity hosted by Youngstown Bishop David Bonnar from 5 to 9 p.m. Sept. 26 at the Eastwood Event Centre, Niles.The event will bring together 23 local restaurants, each showcasing a specialty dish, offering guests the opportunity to taste food from some of the best chefs in the area. The event includes live entertainment by Backbeat, assorted raffles, a cash bar and other activities. This event support programs that help stabilize housing and fight homelessness in Trumbull, Mahoning and Columbiana counties. Ticket price is $75.

LABYRINTH WALKS: The Ursuline Education and Wellness Center will host a labyrinth walk at 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the wellness center, 4280 Shields Road. The theme is “Image of Hope.”

RELEASED TIME: Release Time Bible Education is time set aside during the school day when students with parental permission may briefly leave the school to attend off-campus Bible education classes. Release Time programs will be returning to the Champion and Bristol school districts for this school year. GUIDED LABYRINTH: Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center will offer a guided labyrinth walk 2 to 4 p.m. Sept. 22. The theme is “Mirror: A Reflection Within.” The event will be on the grounds of Villa Maria Community Center. Participants prayerfully walk the outdoor grass path after receiving thematic instructions from the presenter. Walks are offered free, but registration is preferred.
