Festival of trees fetes nonprofits

WINTER CELEBRATION: A Winter Celebration: Festival of Trees is being held through December at Mill Creek MetroParks D.D. and Velma Davis Education and Visitor Center at Fellows Riverside Gardens. The display includes 80 trees decorated by local area nonprofits. Each tree represents a unique cause these nonprofits support. The winter celebration will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday to Friday, and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Closed Christmas Day.

BEAD ART: The Girard Free Library is offering Perler bead art 2 p.m. Friday for children ages 6 and older. Registration is required. 330-545-2508.

CENTER OFFERS WINTER CAMP: The Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane, Youngstown, is offering a winter camp for students in grades kindergarten through five, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Jan. 3. Children will enjoy arts and crafts, science experiments, swimming and recreational activities. Morning and afternoon snacks are provided, but students must bring a packed lunch. Cost is $40 per day.

Winter Camp is closed weekends, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Register at jccyoungstown.org/jcare. The camp is part of the JCC’s J All Day program. J All Day is open to all surrounding school districts for students in grades kindergarten through five. It provides a full day of fun for students when schools are closed.

Drop-in care is not available. Students must be registered in advance.

GREETING CARD CLASS: The Girard Multigenerational Center, Trumbull Avenue, is offering a greeting card class 1 to 3:30 p.m. Monday. Seating is limited. 330-545-6596.
