Zombie Apocalypse Run set Saturday

ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE RUN: Newton Falls High School National Honor Society will hold a Zombie Apocalypse Run 3 p.m. Saturday at the school campus. Registration for the run is 1 to 3 p.m. Proceeds from the event help with philanthropy projects.

FALLS HOLDS HARVEST FEST: The Newton Falls Save Our Schools Levy Committee will hold a harvest festival from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at the city park. There will be craft vendors, children’s activities and a chili cook off.

TRUNK OR TREAT: Champion Township and Champion Rotary will have Trunk or Treat 1:30 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the new township building, 240 Marshall Ave.

PET COSTUME CONTEST: A Howl-O-Ween pet costume contest will be 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Eastwood Mall at the Center Court. Prizes will be awarded.

WITCHES HALLOWEEN TEAM: The Howland Historical Society will hold a witches Halloween tea Oct. 27 at the Niles SCOPE Center, 14 E. State St. Tea servings are noon and 3 p.m. Doors open 15 minutes before the tea time. The cost is $16 per person and $8 for children under 12. Advanced prepaid reservations only are needed by Saturday by calling Ruth Ann at 330-398-0667 or Mary Jane at 330-502-5098.

ANNUAL CONFERENCE: Grace African Methodist Episcopal Church, 1137 Main Ave. SW, Warren, hoststhe 143rd session of the North Ohio annual conference today and Saturday, led by Bishop Stafford N. Wicker of the Third Episcopal District. Host pastor is the Rev. Shane Floud.

NIGHT AT THE RACES: The Alba Club will host a ”Night at the Races” 7 p.m. Saturday at the Ali Baba Grotto Hall, 760 Perkins Jones Road, Warren. Doors open at 6 p.m. The cost is $15 for each horse or five for $50. There also will be games and raffles. Tickets cost $10 at the door, which includes food and drink. CRAFT SHOW: A community craft show is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Johnson Community Center, 800 Gillmer Road, Leavittsburg. Featured will be home party vendors, crafts, baked goods, gifts and food. An auction and any profits from space rentals will benefit the BergVille Blessing Box.

DANCE WITH ME: The local USA Dance Youngstown-Warren Chapter 2015 is sponsoring a dance 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Avon Oaks Ballroom in Girard. The evening features ballroom dance lessons. There will be a mix of ballroom, rhythm, Latin, swing and club dance music. Cost is $10 for members, $15 for non-members and $3 for students
