Erich Zimny has joined Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course in Austintown as its vice president and general manager, Penn Entertainment announced Wednesday.

He replaces Rob Swedinovich, who takes over the same role at another Penn property, Ameristar East Chicago in Indiana.

A Glen Ridge, New Jersey, native, Zimny entered the gaming industry with Hollywood Gaming in 2008 at Charles Town Races in Charles Town, W.Va. While there, he oversaw racing operations and retail sports betting and trading for Penn Interactive. Since August 2022, Zimny was assistant general manager for Hollywood Columbus.

“I’m excited to lead the team at Mahoning, a property with a reputation of delivering great guest experiences while consistently supporting the growth and development of our team members,” said Zimny, who holds degrees from Georgetown University, Rutgers University and the University of Arizona.
