WAC 14U softball team wins first regional game

SHELBYVILLE, Ind. - The Warren Athletic Club 14U softball team that won the Babe Ruth state softball tournament earlier this month, started the Babe Ruth Midwest Regional with a 12-4 victory Thursday over Henryville, Ind. Henryville was the state champions last season. WAC's Chelsea Dipaolo and Caitlin Emch each had two RBIs.

WAC second baseman Liz Kellar was named player of the game by the Henryville team. WAC pitcher Alexis Stano earned the win.

The WAC team is Ohio's lone representative in a regional filled with teams from Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Wisconsin and Michigan.

Today, the WAC team (24-0) faces Liberty, Ind. at 2:15 p.m., and Prairie View, Ind., at 5:45 p.m.
