NILES - Velma "Vel" Alberta Liberatore, 78, passed away at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday July 4, 2012, at her residence.
She was born Dec. 24, 1933 in Turkeyfoot, Pa., the daughter of the late Austin B. and Alice M. King Miller.
Velma was a homemaker in Ohio where she made her home, a member of SS. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Warren, and enjoyed crossword puzzles, traveling and spending time with family.

Velma will be sadly missed by her husband of 37 years, Armand A. Liberatore, whom she married July 28, 1975; two sons, Kenneth D. Brown Jr. (Sharon) of Columbus and Frank B. Brown of Warren; two daughters, Elizabeth M. Balint of Warren and Jacqueline H. McCabe (Rick Williams) of Niles; four grandchildren, Kenneth K., Kerwin T., Austin J., and Frank B. II; three brothers, Austin Miller (Linda) of Melbourne, Fla., Samuel Miller (Hannalore) of Pensacola, Fla., and Paul Miller (Nancy) of Sugar Land, Texas; three sisters, Jane Tressler (Roy Paul) of Somerset, Pa., Freda McClintick of Rockwood, Pa., and Betty Chonko of Somerset, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Clyde Miller, Jimmy Miller and Grant Miller.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles with the Very Rev. Andrew Deskevich officiating.
Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery.
