The National Weather Service in Cleveland has issued a heat advisory from noon to 9 p.m. Friday for eight northeastern Ohio counties, including Trumbull and Mahoning.
The heat index values will be between 100 and 104 degrees mainly in the afternoon and evening.
The excessive heat advisory with a combination of hot temperatures and high humidity can create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible.
Health administrators are advising people to drink plenty of fluids, stay out of the sun, stay in air-conditioned rooms and check on relatives and neighbors. People should wear light weight and loose fitting clothing and drink plenty of water.
