LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Ellen Marie Cassidy Lofrano, 65, entered into her eternal life peacefully with her family by her side on June 24, 2012, after a brief battle with cancer.
Ellen was born Aug. 5, 1946, in Niles, the daughter of Jerome and Patricia Cassidy.
As a young girl, she worked at Carlisle's, then she and her husband started a successful candle business called Country Scents. After moving to Las Vegas in 2004, she worked for Marriott Resorts.

Ellen had a deep love of her faith and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. The family says she was loved by everyone that knew her. She had a smile that could light up a room. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
She was a great businesswoman and always gave advice to everyone who needed it.
Ellen leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Dominic, whom she married on May 10, 1969; her three sons, Dominic Lofrano of Cranberry Township, Pa., Jerry Lofrano of Las Vegas and Nick Lofrano (Shannon Dunmire Diffie) of Austin, Texas; a brother Patrick (Linda) Cassidy of Niles; four sisters, Beverly Barclay of North Hollywood, Calif., Wendy (Ronald) Hornyak of Hubbard, Sheila (Marion) Senk of Cortland and Ardis (Greg) Fleck of Niles; two sisters-in-law, Cookie (Al) Scott of Girard and Gayle Cassidy of Niles; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by a sister, Pam Miklas, and a brother, Kip Cassidy.
A Mass of celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. July 28 at Mount Carmel Church of Niles.
