MESA, Ariz. - Edwin L. McMullen, 88, died Sunday, June 17, 2012, at Banner Dessert Medical Center in Mesa.
Edwin was born June 23, 1923, in Youngstown, the son of Frank and Blanche McMullen.
He was a graduate of Youngstown Rayen High School.

Edwin retired from U.S. Steel as a metallurgist.
He was an avid photographer and a member of the East Ohio Lapidary Club, Warren Camera Club, the Mesa Camera Club and a lifetime member of the Photographic Society of America.
Survivors include a niece, Rebecca (John) Whitman of Hartford; nine grandchildren, Tammy (Christopher) Paveloi, Lynne (Josh) Schultz, Leslie, Whitney, Allyssa, Suzannah, Charity, Andrew and Alexander McMullen; and six great-grandchildren.
A wife, Jane A. (Potts) McMullen, preceded him in death in December of 2003, and a son, David McMullen, in 2009.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Marty and Linda, who cared for Edwin in Mesa.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Crown Hill Chapel Mausoleum in Vienna, where visitation will be an hour prior to services.
Entombment will take place in Crown Hill Burial Park.
The family requests that any donations be sent to the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County, 545 Brunstetter Road S.W., Warren, OH 44481, or to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 N. Beauregard St., Alexandria, Va. 22311.
