A. Dolores Bailey 1932-2012

LORDSTOWN - A. Dolores Bailey, 80, died at 8:55 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2012, at St. Joseph Health Center following a short illness.

She was born Jan. 18, 1932, in Struthers, the daughter of the late John H. Martin and the late Anna Stacy Martin. She married Lyle Bailey on Nov. 7, 1953.

She was a 1950 graduate of Lordstown High School and was employed as a bookkeeper at Busy Beaver Lumber and A&M Door for 22 years. She also worked in the family Christmas tree business for 29 years.

Dolores was a member of Lordstown Lutheran Church and its Sunday School Friendly Class for more than 50 years, Northeast Ohio Forestry Association, Northeast Ohio Christmas Tree Growers, national and state Christmas tree growers associations, Telephone Pioneer Club and Sunset Brigade riding club.

She is survived by her husband, Lyle M. Bailey of Lordstown; a son, Chris (Kimberly) Bailey of Columbus; a daughter, Glenda (Gregory) Betteridge of Conneaut; a brother, Russell Martin of Austintown; five grandchildren, Christopher Blake Betteridge, Rebecca A. Betteridge, Benjamin I. Betteridge, Bridget A. Bailey and Christopher E.M. Bailey; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Amy Mansell; and three brothers, Robert, Harold and Johnny Martin.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Lordstown Lutheran Church, where the Rev. Joyce Taipale will officiate. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in Lordstown Cemetery, Lordstown.
