Wed. 1am: Elm Road Sheetz robbed; description similar to earlier robbery

WARREN - For the second time in about six hours, police here are looking for a man who robbed a business solely by claiming he had a gun.

According to the police scanner, about 12:40 a.m. police were called to Sheetz, 3379 Elm Road, on reports that a bald, white man with tattoos on his face and wearing an orange shirt and blue jeans took money after telling employees he had a gun.

It was not immediately known how much was taken and no weapon was shown, according to the scanner.

Police had a picture of the suspect taken from security cameras.

About seven hours earlier, CVS/Pharmacy, 620 E. Market St., was robbed of cash and cigarettes.

Witnesses told police the robber was a white man, bald, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, in his late 20s or early 30s, with a tattoos on his arm and face. He was wearing blue jeans and an orange shirt.

The man told employees he had a gun, but no weapon was seen.

After leaving CVS, the man walked west down East Market Street, according to the scanner.

Police were looking at surveillance video taken from the store's cameras.
