NILES - Michael J. DeSantis Jr., 86, of Niles, died Friday, May 4, 2012, at his residence.
He was born July 13, 1925, in Hubbard, the son of Michael and Mary Pasquarella DeSantis Sr.
He was a 1943 graduate of Hubbard High School, sold sewing machines at Sears, was employed for 35 years at General Motors Lordstown, retiring in 1990, and after retirement worked at Tops Grocery Store.

Mike was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Niles, where he was an usher; and a member of UAW Local 1112. He volunteered at Our Lady of Lebanon Shrine, enjoyed horse races, and was a United States Navy veteran of World War II, having served as a weatherman.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Angeline Marchese DeSantis, whom he married Oct. 19, 1972; a brother, Anthony DeSantis and his wife, Dolly, of Hubbard; three sisters, Alice Casey of Hubbard, Angela Fetchet of Youngstown and Phyllis Laskovics and her husband, Robert of Bessemer, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Eunice Williams.
Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles, where the Mount Carmel Bereavment Ministry will conduct prayers at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles with the Rev. James Korda officiating, preceded by a 9 a.m. prayer service at the funeral Home.
Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery where Michael will be honored for his military service by The Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard.
