YOUNGSTOWN -- Police have a person in mind who they believe responsible for a bank robbery late Wednesday morning on the West Side.
Reports state a man walked into the PNC Bank on Meridan Road about 11 a.m. with a manila envelope and a note demanding a certain amount of money in certain denominations, Chief of Detectives Capt. Mark Milstead said.
The man said he had a gun but no gun was seen, Milstead said.

Youngstown police are looking for the person who robbed a PNC bank Wednesday afternoon.
The teller gave the man the money before he got into a tan or champagne colored Buick and drove away, police said.
Milstead said police have a suspect. Officers believe it is someone who has committed several recent crimes in the area, including a bank robbery in Austintown recently, he said.
We have some suspicions he was involved in a couple of similar robberies with a similar (method) in the area, Milstead said.
Last week, a bank on Kirk Road in Austintown was robbed by a man who gave a teller a note and threatening that he had a gun. There was no gun seen in that robbery either, Austintown police said.
There have also been some commercial robberies in the area recently that Milstead said investigators think were committed by the same person.
We know this particular individual has been very active, Milstead said.
The man is described as white, between 30 and 40 years old. He was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a baseball cap Wednesday.
