BROOKFIELD - Mary M. Kearns Hook, 69, passed away peacefully at 2:15 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren following an extended illness.
She was born May 2, 1942, in Meadville, Pa., the daughter of the late Michael and Helen Harpst Kearns.
Mary was a graduate of Sharon High School, Class of 1960.

She married her husband of 52 years, Richard Hook, on March 19, 1960.
She enjoyed crafting, gambling and especially spending time with her family.
Mary will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Richard Hook; a daughter, Michaelene (Jeff) Davis of Vienna; a son, Dennis G. (Diana) Hook of Orangeville; two brothers, Terry Kearns (Marilyn Miller) Kearns of Hubbard and John Kearns and his companion, Marylou Gehrlein, of Masury; two granddaughters, Monica Davis and Tiffany Hook and her companion, Justin Miller; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Leo and Tom Kearns; and a son, Timothy Hook.
A private memorial service was held at the Madasz Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Joel Dickson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, material contributions may take the form of donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for cancer research.
