Together again

He had worked as a grinder at Copperweld Steel, retiring in 1993, and was a member of the Cortland Moose Lodge.

Wayne was a history buff who enjoyed collecting American Indian artifacts. However, he will best be remembered as a man who loved spending time with his family.

His wife, Patricia Ann Hicks Crain, whom he married on Oct. 31, 1964, preceded him in death on July 29, 1990.

He is survived by a daughter, Rebecca (Ron) Gilmore of Cortland; two brothers, John Crain of Kinsman and Larry Crain of Mecca; and a sister, Sandra Miller of Mecca. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Kayla Gilmore and Brooke Gilmore; and several nieces and nephews.

Wayne was preceded in death by a brother, George Crain.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel in Cortland. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
