SCREENING OFFERED: The Lordstown SCOPE Senior Center is offering free cholesterol screening, glucose test and blood pressure check from 10 a.m. to noon the last Wednesday of each month. HOWLAND SCHOOLS RETIREES TO MEET: Howland Schools Retirees will meet at 11 a.m. March 6 at Enzo's Restaurant on Elm Road, Warren. Cost of the lunch, payable at the door, is $10 with a choice from three to four entrees offered.
Retirees who do not receive a newsletter and response card are asked to call Mary at 330-856-5226 by the Saturday prior to the meeting so the restaurant can be given a close estimate of the expected attendance. All retirees, classified and non-classified, spouses and guests are welcome to attend the monthly lunch meetings for a meeting, food and time of fellowship.
The group meets every month year round and is only canceled if Howland Schools are canceled because of inclement weather. The collection of non-perishable food, paper goods and hygiene items brought to the meeting will be delivered to Beatitude House.
AARP TAX-AIDE OFFERED: AARP Tax aide is a program of the AARP Foundation offered in conjunction with the IRS. This program provides free tax preparation and filing for federal and state tax returns. The preparers will begin preparing / filing tax returns for the 2011 tax year through April 13.
